About Me

HanDok Partners was established 2010 in Munich. I am a Korean native-speaker born in Seoul and educated both in Korea and Germany with a particularly good understanding of both cultures. Since 2010, I work as a professional conference interpreter and translator and provide German companies with strategic and operational consulting services for the Korean market.

I have gained more than 20 years of working experiences in international business in the fields of semiconductors, consumer electronics, venture capital, IT, biotechnology, event management (2002 FIFA World Cup Japan, Korea) and consulting. My activities ranged from controlling, strategic business development to sales & logistics.

I hold a M.A. degree in interpretation and translation from Hankook University of Foreign Studies in Seoul and have studied German Linguistics at the University of Zurich as scholarship grantee of the Swiss government, which I continued as Ph.D. candidate. Furthermore, I hold an MBA degree from the University of Stuttgart (Stuttgart Institute of Management and Technology) in International Management. My thesis was on “System Integration enabled via Modularity in Semiconductor Industry for TV Applications”.

Since 2010, I am a member of the federal association of interpreters and translators (BDÜ) and association of conference interpreters (VKD). I was publically appointed and authorized as a sworn interpreter and certified translator by the regional court of Stuttgart for German and Korean. Since October 2022, I am an active member of AIIC, International Association of Conference Interpreters.
